Horizon Chase 2 Brings A New Arcade Racing Experience To Consoles In 2024
One of the standout arcade racers on the Nintendo Switch would have to be Horizon Chase Turbo – a love letter to retro racers of the past featuring a modern lick of paint. If you’ve been craving more racing action after the all the expansions, you’re in luck.
Brazillian developer Aquiris has today announced a sequel to its award-winning game Horizon Chase. Horizon Chase 2 invites players to race around the world across all sorts of modes, including local and online multiplayer. It’s coming exclusively to Apple Arcade on 9th September and will follow with a “PC and consoles” release in 2024. Exact platforms have not been specified just yet, but it’ll likely come to Switch.
Players will be able to race across 55 tracks in five countries while unlocking 10 different cars. There’ll be all sorts of landscape and different weather effects, enhanced with a soundtrack by the Top Gear video game composer Barry Leitch.
If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also be able to customise your car – with new cosmetic items and stat upgrades. And you can play every game mode in online chases with your friends – assembling a crew with other players to progress together or compete head-to-head.
Last but not least, Horizon Chase 2 is described as being a game in “constant evolution” – with dynamic “evergreen events” that promise to keep players coming back with major updates, including a Playground Mode (offering new challenges every two days) and a Tournament Mode featuring modified races from World Tour. Both can be played solo or in groups of four.
