Rapper Takayo “TKorStretch” Nembhard Stabbed to Death at Notting Hill Carnival

Violence ensued at the Notting Hill Carnival, which is returning after two years of absence, on Monday evening and a man was stabbed to death. That man has been identified as Takayo Nembhard, popularly known by his stage name “TKorStretch.” Read on to know who killed Takayo Nembhard and how did he die.

Takayo Nembhard, 21, had gone to the Notting Hill Carnival from Bristol, with his sister and friends. However, he got attacked at the electrifying event and later succumbed to the injuries at the hospital.


Takayo Nembhard was Stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival

Takayo Nembhard (TKorStretch) was attacked in Ladbroke Grove at about 08:00 PM BST/ 3:00 PM ET on Monday, August 29, 2024. The police had to pull him out of a huge crowd to provide emergency first aid.

The ambulance was called and Takayo was rushed to the West London Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries later and passed away before midnight.

“At around 8 PM on Monday, August 29 officers became aware of a stabbing in Ladbroke Grove, under the Westway flyover,” said the Metropolitan police statement.

“Officers provided emergency first aid to the victim – a 21-year-old man – until the arrival of London ambulance service paramedics. They were able to extract him through significant crowds in challenging circumstances to a waiting ambulance.

“He was taken to a west London hospital where, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”


TKorStretch’s Manager, Chris Patrick, Pays Tribute to the Rapper

Chris Patrick, Takayo Nembhard’s manager who represented him, announced and confirmed the tragic news of his untimely death. He took to Instagram and shared an emotional post remembering the rapper.

“2 years ago a young 19-year-old man came from Bristol to meet me at my Studio with his dad, his name was Takayo Nembhard AKA TKorStretch,” he wrote.

“That meeting took us on a journey … we recorded some great music together. His talent was endless and I can tell you guys he was close to greatness!

“So it’s with a heavy heart that I bring the news that Takayo (TKorStretch) passed away last night. He came from Bristol to simply have a good time at the London carnival and this is the end result.

“My deepest condolences to TK’s Mother & Father his Brother, 2 Sisters, Girlfriend, and child that will never meet his father!

He concluded the post by stating: “TK was a good kid, a good guy, and what has happened breaks my heart … Rest in peace, my Friend.”

Takayo’s several other friends and fans have been paying respect to the deceased on social media platforms. Everyone is mourning the loss of the talented young man.


Who was Takayo Nembhard a.k.a TKorStretch?

Takayo Nembhard was born in 2001 in Bristol, England. He was popularly known by his stage name “TKorStretch.” The rapper was a former Football player who played for Bristol Rovers. However, he turned to drill music after sustaining an injury in his right leg.

TKorStretch has over 300,000 plays on one of his songs on Spotify, and around 11,000 monthly listeners on the platform. Some of his biggest hits include Flamenco Dance (2021), Aosd (2020), Caliweed (2020), Jesus Piece (2021), and Visions (2021).

He was managed by London-based music producer Chris Patrick of Rockizm Music. TKorStretch met him two years ago and had been working under his label since then. The young rapper was visiting the Notting Hill Carnival when he was stabbed to death this Monday.

Who killed Takayo Nembhard a.k.a TKorStretch?

Takayo Nembhard a.k.a TKorStretch was stabbed to death by an unknown person who isn’t identified yet. The Metropolitan Police has begun a murder investigation and said hundreds of people were in the immediate vicinity under the Westway flyover at the time of the tragic event.

“The atmosphere over the past two days has been largely positive and good-natured as Carnival should be,” CDR Alison Heydari said.

“Regrettably, on Monday evening we saw a number of violent incidents, and a 21-year-old man lost his life.

“Our thoughts are with his family as they come to terms with their terrible loss,” Heydari added.

Heydari also stated that homicide detectives are pursuing every possible line of inquiry to identify those responsible and will bring justice to the deceased. She further urged anyone who saw anything or has video footage to come forward and assist officers.


The Metropolitan Police made 209 Arrests Early Tuesday

On Monday evening, the Met announced a Section 60 order within the Notting Hill Carnival area. It provided officers with “stop and search powers.” The order lasted until 01:00 on Tuesday, August 29, 2024.

“This is following a number of violent incidents and serious stabbings,” the force stated.

The police revealed that 209 arrests had been made by early Tuesday. Out of those, 46 are for assaults, 36 are for possession of drugs, 33 are for possession of an offensive weapon, 27 are for public order offenses, and 8 are for sexual assaults.

The Met Police Federation also confirmed that at least 34 Metropolitan Police officers had been assaulted in the area.

Notting Hill Carnival is known for such incidents including violence previously. Unfortunately, a young man lost his life this time.
