Selma Blair was born Selma Blair Beitner on the 23rd of June 1972, in a suburb of Detroit, Southfield, Michigan. She was raised by a Jewish family with her father Elliot I. Beitner (Attorney, Labor Arbitrator), and a mother Molly Ann (aka née Cooke) Beitner (Judge). Selma is the youngest of her three sisters Elizabeth, Marie, and Katherine. She legally changed her last name to Blair at the age of 23 when her parents got divorced. When her father Elliot was 82 years old, he passed away back in 2012.
