Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update has brought with it a plethora of new content to dig into, not least of which being new materials for crafting and ascension. As with other materials in the game, these new components can only be found through certain means, which may be a hassle to decipher. Fungal Spores are one such item, and if you’re struggling to find them, we’ve got you covered with a guide on where to get Fungal Spores in Genshin Impact.
How to Get Fungal Spores in Genshin Impact
Getting Fungal Spores in Genshin Impact is fairly easy to do, though it is worth noting that they can only be obtained through one method.
This material is only dropped by the Fungi enemies found in the Sumeru area. They can be dropped by any variant of these enemies, and their level doesn’t impact their drop rate, meaning you can farm Fungal Spores from most every Fungi enemy you come across.
As such, you simply need to reach the Sumeru area and start grinding for Spores. It’s not an ideal strategy for getting the stuff, but it’s better than having to jump through endless hoops to get only a minute number of materials.
What Fungal Spores Are Used for
This powdery material is primarily used for character and Talent Ascension. Specifically, it can allow you to Ascend the player character and the newly introduced Tighnari as well as their Dendro Talents. You’ll need 24 Fungal Spores for each character’s Ascensions, meaning you’ll need a total of 48 pieces of the material in all.
Likewise, Fungal Spores can be used in the Ascension of the End of the Line bow and the Fruit of Fulfillment catalyst. Each weapon needs a total of 10 Fungal Spores, meaning you’ll need 20 in total if you’re out to upgrade both as much as possible.
Last but not least, you can use Fungal Spores to craft the higher-level Ascension material Luminescent Pollen. You’ll need 3 Fungal Spores and 50 Mora to make one piece of Luminescent Pollen, so it’s advisable to amass a sizable amount of Spores if you’re in need of more Pollen for Ascension purposes.
