British TV soap actor Ashvin Luximon who appeared on EastEnders as “Asif Malik,” passed away unexpectedly last month. He was just 38 years old. His family confirmed the tragic news of his passing today. Read on to know how did Ashvin Luximon die and the cause of his death.
Luximon was best known for his portrayal of Asif, the friend of Martin Fowler (played by James Alexandrou). The two almost always got in trouble for things like shoplifting and vandalism. However, when they were caught, Asif left Martin to explain himself to his mom Pauline.
His final appearance in Walford, the fictional east London borough where the show is set, concluded with Asif passing his A-levels and heading off to university.

Ashvin Luximon died ‘unexpectedly’ on July 23, 2024, at the age of just 38. His family confirmed his passing in a tribute page launched in his honor.
“This site is a tribute to Ash, who passed on July 23, 2024, due to an aneurysm,” they wrote on the page.
“Ash’s unexpected passing has hit us all hard, but we want to take the time to remember his larger-than-life spirit. He loved and was loved by so many.
“He sang a mean karaoke tune and had a voice loud enough to hear from space. He brought laughter and the best cuddles.”
The family also confirmed that Ashvin Luximon’s funeral took place on August 11, 2024. They asked his friends and other people to not wear black and to wear colorful clothing to celebrate his life.
Instead of flowers, mourners were asked to donate to charities including the NSPCC and men’s suicide prevention organization Andy’s Man Club.
Ashvin Luximon dead: What was the cause of his death?
Ashivin Luximon shockingly died at a very young age. His family has confirmed that he died due to an aneurysm, which is the abnormal ballooning or bulging of an artery. It can often occur in the aorta, brain, back of the knee, intestine, or spleen.
Some of the patients suffer rupture of the artery as a result which leads to internal bleeding and death if not treated at the right time. Luximon’s family didn’t reveal further details about the tragic event. It’s unknown what sort of aneurysm Ashvin faced.
Ashvin Luximon had a Short but Remarkable Acting Career
Ashvin Luximon was born on June 30, 1984, in Enfield, North London, England, U.K. He grew up in the same area and went to the Chase Community School in Enfield. His parents were of Mauritian origin.
He also attended Bowden’s Theatre School in Enfield, which took a class every Saturday. Luximon left school before taking GCSEs to pursue his passion, an acting career.
Before appearing on EastEnders, he appeared as a child actor in the school drama Grange Hill. He also worked in promotional videos for bus safety and British Airways. Ashvin got his big break playing “Asif Malik” in the BBC drama EastEnders from September 1999 to October 2003.
He appeared in a total of 146 episodes, being a mainstay of the show before his character was written off. Glory is another drama where Luximon played a key role. Coming to his personal life, he was a loving son, brother, and friend.
