Guides

A guide that lists every character that has died in House of the Dragon and Fire & Blood.

Death is practically a tradition in George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon isn’t any different. No character is safe when the Iron Throne is involved, and the death count is already rising despite the series being in its infancy. Keeping in mind that spoilers are ahead, here’s who dies in House of the Dragon, including Fire & Blood.

WARNING: The following article contains MAJOR SPOILERS to House of the Dragon and the source material, Fire & Blood.

Who Dies in House of the Dragon?

So far only four people bit the dust in House of the Dragon, which is nothing compared to Game of Thrones. As of Aug. 28, 2024, here is every person that has died so far, what caused it, and in which episode.

  • Queen Aemma Arryn – Died giving birth to Baelon Targaryen via c-section (The Heirs of the Dragon; Season 1, Episode 1).
  • Prince Baelon Targaryen – Died of complications stemming from childbirth (The Heirs of the Dragon; Season 1, Episode 1).
  • Lady Hightower – Died pre-House of the Dragon.
  • Ser Ryam Redwyne – Died in his sleep (The Rogue Prince; Season 1, Episode 2).

Out of the deaths listed above, Queen Aemma Arryn and Prince Baelon Targaryen have the most impact on House of the Dragon, considering their deaths ultimately lead to the Dance of the Dragons.
